NADMO FORMS DISASTER VOLUNTEER CLUB AT CLIMAX INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

The Ashaiman Municipal Secretariat of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Blakpatsona Zone, has formed a Disaster Volunteer Club (DVC) at Climax International School.

The formation exercise, coupled with an education programme on Disaster Risk Reduction, was held today, Thursday, 23rd October, 2026, in the early hours of 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., at the school’s premises.

The programme was led by the Ashaiman Municipal Director of NADMO Mr. Julius Tettey Awuye and his team from the Municipal Secretariat, together with Zonal Officers.

The team sensitized the pupils on common disasters in schools, their prevention and basic response measures, as part of efforts to build a culture of safety within schools in the Municipality.

The exercise climaxed with the inauguration of the Disaster Volunteer Club in the school. In his remarks, the Municipal Director urged members of the newly formed club to serve as ambassadors of safety, not only in their school but also in their respective communities.
