Ashaiman Municipal Assembly has opened the Mandela market to function

 Every day. The daily market starts from Friday, December 6th, a day after the reopening ceremony

The Administrators of the Assembly, Assembly Members, Market Women, Chiefs and Queen mothers gathered at the market premises on Thursday to upgrade the market days to run daily in a colorful ceremony.

Those whose livelihood depends on the Mandela market received the announcement made by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Albert Boakye Okyere with joy.

This means that from Friday, December 6, 2023, the market will be in operation every day including Sundays.

The MCE encouraged the existing market women to accept anyone who comes to sell or undertake business in the market. This is the only means by which the market will flourish, the MCE stated.

“Today that the market is opened as daily markets you will begin to see new faces, if you see them, just look at them and allow them to do their businesses”, he told the market women.

Producers and sellers from Ada and Ga-Dangme areas as well as other Regions are encouraged to send their goods to the Mandela market which has been upgraded and re-commissioned to sustain their livelihoods.

The MCE in honour of the Queen Mother in Ashaiman, (Naa Amui) honoured her by naming the market after her. For her effort in establishing the market.
