ASHAIMAN MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE SWORN INTO OFFICE
Hon. Albert Boakye Okyere, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ashaiman Municpal Assembly was among the twenty-six (26) Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives in the Greater Accra Region sworn into office by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey on Friday 15th October, 2021.
Hon. Quartey congratulated the MMDCEs on their nomination and successful confirmation by their respective Assemblies. He also expressed his appreciation to over 600 Assembly Members for their massive endorsement of nominees in the Greater Accra Region in the exercise of their statutory mandate.
The Local Governance Act, Act 936 Section 20(1) stipulated that, there shall be a District Chief Executive for each district appointed by the President with the prior approval for not less than two-thirds majority of the members of the District Assembly present and voting at the meeting.
Hon. Albert Boakye Okyere was confirmed by the Assembly Members in Ashaiman on the 6th October, 2021 and secured 96% of the total votes cast. Hon. Okyere is therefore the 4th Municipal Chief Executive of Ashaiman Municipal Assembly.
