The Human Resource Department contributes to the success of Ashaiman Municipal Assembly through service delivery and excellence in human resource management. It provides various services which are available to all employees, as well as advice and guidance on multitude of staff issues. The department support the implementation of human resource policies and programs, practices and procedures to aid the employees in the efficient and effective management of the business of the Local Government Service.

The goal of the department is to help Ashaiman Municipal Assembly achieve it's strategic mission, vision and goal while ensuring employees are engaged to help the Assembly succeed.

The department coordinates all human resource programs, organize staff training, update the records of staff on daily basis, process salary administration and ensure inter and intra-departmental collaboration to increase performance and development.

The Human Resource Department reports on all human resource related activities and puts in measures to upgrade the capabilities, skills and knowledge of staffs in the Assembly. The department also performs other roles such as seeing to the general welfare of Staffs and Appraising direct reports.

The department is responsible for and performs activities such as;

  • Recruitment and selection of IGF (Internally Generated Fund) staff
  • Training and development
  • Human Resource Planning
  • Promotion, postings and transfers
  • Discipline and Grievance procedures
  • Handling lateness and absence
  • Compensation and benefits
  • Leave process
  • Health, Safety and Environment
  • Diversity and Gender mainstreaming
  • Promote ethics, values and conduct of staff
