ASHAIMAN MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY ENGAGES COMMUNITY IN PUBLIC HEARING FOR 2026-2029 MEDIUM TERM DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The Ashaiman Municipal Assembly has successfully conducted a public hearing on the Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) for 2026-2029, engaging community stakeholders in shaping the municipality’s future.

Held on September 16, 2025, the hearing brought together local residents, traditional leaders, government officials, and civil society representatives to discuss and provide input on the Assembly’s strategic development framework. The session focused on key areas such as infrastructural development, sanitation improvement, local economic growth, and social services enhancement.

The Municipal Chief Executive emphasized the importance of public participation in development planning, stating that the inclusive process ensures the MTDP reflects the real needs and aspirations of the people of Ashaiman. Community members raised concerns about waste management, road networks, and youth employment opportunities, which the Assembly committed to address within the plan’s operational priorities.

The MTDP is set to guide Ashaiman’s development initiatives over the next four years. Following the hearing, the Assembly will incorporate feedback from stakeholders before submitting the finalized plan to the regional coordinating council and the Ministry of Local Government for approval.

This participatory approach underscores the Assembly’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development as it works to improve the quality of life for all residents of Ashaiman Municipality.
