ASHAIMAN MARKETS SET FOR ORDERLY TRANSFORMATION

The Ashaiman Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of Hon. Freeman Tsekpo, has reaffirmed its commitment to restoring order and efficiency in the municipality’s markets. In a meeting yesterday, Tuesday, August 11, 2025, with the leadership of the market women, the MCE outlined the Assembly’s firm stance on the upcoming decongestion exercise, urging full collaboration for its success.

The Assembly will soon assume full management of all markets, commissioning the newly built Nii Adjor Market and making the Naa Amui Market at Under Bridge, along with two other major markets, daily trading hubs. Street hawkers, unauthorized structures, and on-street trading will be removed to ease pedestrian and vehicular movement, while goods offloading will be better regulated.

Hon. Tsekpo stressed that the decongestion drive is non-negotiable, as it serves the collective interest of Ashaiman. With the cooperation of market leaders, this transformation will create cleaner, safer, and more organized market spaces for all.
