ASHAIMAN MCE ENGAGES CLERGY TO STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ashaiman, Mr. Freeman Tsekpo, on the morning of Wednesday, 25th June 2025, hosted a courtesy visit from the leadership of the clergy in Ashaiman at his office. The meeting marked a significant step toward deepening collaboration between faith-based institutions and the Municipal Assembly.

In his remarks, the MCE expressed appreciation for the visit and extended an open invitation to the entire clergy body for a broader engagement in the near future. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity and requested that all religious leaders within the municipality—regardless of their current association status—be formally invited to the upcoming meeting through appropriate channels.

Mr. Tsekpo also encouraged the clergy to actively participate in a Municipal clean-up exercise scheduled for Republic Day, underscoring the shared responsibility in promoting cleanliness and environmental sustainability.

Furthermore, the MCE informed the delegation of an official invitation extended to 40 members of the clergy to attend the upcoming National Thanksgiving Service on 1st July,2025, initiated by the Office of the President. He reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a strong and strategic partnership between the Assembly and the religious community to drive local development and social cohesion.

In response, the clergy congratulated Mr. Tsekpo on his recent appointment and pledged their unwavering support for the work of the Municipal Assembly. They also called for deeper involvement in community-based programs and Assembly-led initiatives, highlighting the clergy’s critical role in social mobilization and moral leadership.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continued engagement and shared efforts in building a more inclusive and progressive Ashaiman Municipality.
