THE ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER FOR ASHAIMAN MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY
Hon Godwin Tsimese becomes the new Presiding Member of the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly.
The Ashaiman municipal assembly held a special general assembly meeting on Wednesday, 22nd May 2024; to elect the Presiding Member of the Assembly. The Hon Godwin Tsimese after the elections, becomes the 6th Presiding Member of the Assembly after its establishment in 2008 by the Legislative institute ( L1 1881).
Hon Godwin Tsimese, the Assembly member for Oko Mantey electoral area , was elected as the presiding member of the assembly. He polled 24 votes with one(1) rejected ballot, after standing unopposed for the position of Presiding Member, to secure the mandate to lead the assembly for the next two(2) years.
His swearing-in ceremony was held shortly after the declaration of results. He was sworn-in by the circuit court judge of Ashaiman, His Lordship Simon Nketia Agagah.
The assembly adjourned the meeting to Tuesday 29th May 2024 to continue its agenda on the formation of the sub-committees of the assembly.
