ASHAIMAN MCE DONATES FURNITURE TO SCHOOLS IN THE MUNICIPALITY
On June 15, 2021 ASHMA – The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Albert Boakye Okyere donated 716 furniture to schools in the municipality as part of the measures to refine academic performance in the Municipality Hon. Okyere provided 150 tables for kindergarten, 250 chairs, 300 dual desks, and 16 tables and chairs for teachers. These items were handed over to the Municipal Education Directorate for onward distribution to the schools.
He also presented 5,000 face shields and 2,000 school uniforms to the directorate to be given to the children to reduce the burden on parents in the municipality.
According to him, some schools were having challenges with both tables and chairs. He also assured these donations would be consecutive.
On maintenance, the MCE advised the teachers and children to handle the properties in their possession and warned them to put an end to the Ghanaian attitude of mishandling state property.
The MCE said, he would be disappointed if the furniture were mishandled, making it lose its durability.
Madam Beatrice Opare Acheampong, Head of Supervision and Monitoring at the Municipal Education Office -Ashaiman indicated that they have over 5,000 children in the municipality and despite the classrooms being their major challenge the chairs and tables they would suffice it.
She made mention that all the public schools needed furniture especially the kindergarten and primary sector therefore they would equally be distributed accordingly in the Ashaiman cluster of schools, Presbyterian, Clementina and Mustapha schools.
