As part of enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of the Local Governance the Human Resource Management Department of Ashaiman Municipal Assembly organized a two-day capacity-building workshop for its staff on Local Government Protocols and Bye-Laws on Tuesday 11th<\/sup> July and Wednesday 12th<\/sup> July 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The workshop was aimed at equipping the staff with knowledge on the various statutes and regulations governing the Assembly. It also provided opportunity for the staff to share their experiences and also to learn from each other. The workshop was well-received by the staff and would likely improve the work culture of the organization which will help build a sense of camaraderie amongst the staff and promote a feeling of belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Alhaji Saaka Dramani, who led the opening of the training remarked on some key areas such as the vision, mission, and motor of the Local Government Service of Ghana, code of conduct or ways we can deliver our services, satisfactorily and professionally. He also highlighted the importance of proper communication and coordination among the staff as well as with the community. Furthermore, he encouraged all to be productive to help achieve organizational goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training was facilitated by the Municipal Planning Officer Mr. Collins Ohene-Gyan and the Municipal Budget Officer and Mr. Nicolas Atograh.\u00a0 They torched on the structure of the Assembly system, i.e. departments and their units, mode of communication and information dissemination, kind of services delivered by the Assembly, and rights and responsibilities of the staff. These were some of the topical issues addressed. The staff of Ashaiman Municipal Assembly is being encouraged to study the code of ethics which is derived from the 1992 constitution and the standing orders of the Assembly. The code of ethics provides a framework and guidance for staff to ensure that their activities are carried out professionally. It also outlines the duties and obligations of staff to ensure they are upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability. Finally, the code of ethics encourages the staff of the Assembly to be proactive and take initiative in achieving the Assembly’s goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
