{"id":134,"date":"2019-07-23T14:43:13","date_gmt":"2019-07-23T14:43:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/ashma\/?page_id=134"},"modified":"2020-07-06T15:06:13","modified_gmt":"2020-07-06T15:06:13","slug":"transport","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.ashma.gov.gh\/index.php\/departments\/transport\/","title":{"rendered":"Transport"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2>Department of Transport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department of Transport is to assist the Assembly to formulate and implement policies on transport services within the framework of national policies.<br><br><strong>The Department shall;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>advise the Assembly on matters relating to transport services in the District;<\/li><li>prohibit or restrict the driving of general or any specified vehicles on specified roads or specified direction.<\/li><li>regulate the use and conduct of public  vehicles, including the routes and parking places in accordance with  the Driver and other detailed Vehicle Licensing Authority Act (Act569);<\/li><li>provide for the identification of licensed vehicles;<\/li><li>license taxis, bicycles and motorbikes and prescribe fees to be paid;<\/li><li>establish, acquire and maintain transport services by land or water including ferries;<\/li><li>maintain records of classified contractors and consultants in the transport services industry within the District;<\/li><li>prepare composite progress and annual reports on transport works in the district;<\/li><li>assist in the review of road designs by consultants for designated roads; and establish, maintain and control parks for motor and other vehicles.                        <\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Department of Transport The Department of Transport is to assist the Assembly to formulate and implement policies on transport services within the framework of national policies.
