The Ashaiman Municipal Assembly convened its first ordinary meeting of the second session of the fifth Assembly on Wednesday and Thursday, July 23 and 24, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the municipality’s socio-economic development. The two-day session gathered Assembly Members, Zonal Council Chairpersons, department heads, staff, and security agencies to deliberate on critical issues such as sanitation, infrastructure development, decongestion, and land disputes.

In his maiden sessional address, the newly appointed Municipal Chief Executive received an enthusiastic welcome from Assembly members. He outlined a clear vision centered on efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, financial discipline, and accountability as guiding principles for the Assembly’s work. Emphasizing the importance of capacity building, he pledged initiatives to enhance the skills of Assembly members and staff, ensuring better service delivery and governance. Central to his agenda was also the improvement of internal revenue mobilization, seen as a cornerstone for sustainable development and the protection of lives and property.
The Presiding Member, Hon. Godwin Tsimese, echoed this forward-looking approach, assuring constituents that the Assembly’s resolutions would align closely with the community’s needs and aspirations.

This renewed focus on collaboration, capacity building, and prudent financial management positions Ashaiman on a promising path toward sustainable growth. Led by committed leadership and active community participation, the municipality aims to advance infrastructure development while improving the overall quality of life for all its residents.
