The Mamomo Zone of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Ashaiman Municipal, has inaugurated a Disaster Volunteer Club (DVC) at Great Ideal Ebenezer School, Ashaiman.

The formation exercise, held today, Thursday, 29th October, 2026, forms part of NADMO’s efforts to promote disaster prevention in schools across the municipality.

The short but impactful session, which ran from 8:00 a.m. to 9:35 a.m., was led by the Municipal Director Julius Awuye and his team from the Municipal Secretariat, together with Zonal Officers.

Pupils were sensitized on disaster prevention, basic safety tips and the importance of early reporting. The programme ended with the official formation of the club.

Addressing the newly inducted members, the Municipal Director charged them to serve as ambassadors of safety in their school and wherever they find themselves.
